Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

At the end of the course, the students will be able to:

Doctrine (Knowledge)

Discuss meaningfully the beautiful components of our faith in God as staying and falling in love as well as the call to commit to the mission to love through different learning activities.

Moral (Skills)

Present a crafted timeline of their family traditions that show their experiences of God’s graciousness. Respond to the HAU vision-mission through critical review of the basic realities and processes in doing theology by engaging in a group sharing.

Worship (value)

Appreciate the beauty of Christian faith revealed in the person of Jesus which is witnessed by exemplars of Christian tradition through reflection writing.

Course Description : This foundational course in theology is designed to equip the students with the basic knowledge in the study of Judeo-Christian Tradition and Sacred Scriptures based on the Second Vatican Council which are fundamental foundations in Catholic Faith. The subject is geared towards a deeper understanding and appreciation of Catholic Faith that is socially and contemporarily relevant.

Choose an online video conferencing platform for your sharing (e.g. zoom, messenger, google meet etc.) Look for Filipino proverbs or saying on love. Find out the common elements they convey regarding true love. Compare your finding with your personal experiences of love and connecting it with your experiences of the love of God. Make a summary of your findings and share it within your group.

Discuss meaningfully (face to face or virtually) the beautiful components of our faith in God as staying and falling in love as well as the call to commit to the mission to love through groups sharing on proverbs or sayings about love.

 

Craft a collage of pictures that illustrates students’ perceptions of suffering based on their experiences.

 

Through a song analysis, illustrate ways of perceiving the salvific character of God’s presence and human response.

Activity 1: Group survey. Form small groups (3-4 members) and do a survey of around 10 people about the use of the Bible. Find out how many read it regularly and voluntarily and how many consider it as important in their lives. Share your findings via Zoom or any other online video conferencing platform.

 

 

Activity 2: Listen to a homily of Bishop Ambo David via online Mass and pay careful attention on how the Gospel is explained or given reflection.
