Instructions

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY. NONCOMPLIANCE WITH ANY OF THE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS WILL INVALIDATE YOUR ANSWERS FOR THE EXAMINATION.

Make sure that all your devices are fully charged or have enough power supply to last for the duration of the exam. YOU MUST HAVE A BACK-UP PLAN just in case you will experience problems during the examination, such as, but not limited to, power interruption or internet-related problems.

You are given until from from 01:00PM to 04:00PM  on November 18, 2021, Thursday to take the Final Examination for Financial Markets.

You will be given the access code at 12:55PM through a Canvas Announcement in order for you to make a hard copy of your exam or if you would want to start earlier. Even if you start earlier than 01:00PM, the submission of your answers will still be due at 04:00PM. Please be mindful of the COUNTDOWN TIMER on the upper right portion of your screen which shows how much time you have left before the answers will be automatically submitted.

The exam contains 80 questions in total: 40 theoretical items (1 point each); and 40 single question multiple choice short problems (3 points each);

PLEASE BE REMINDED OF THE FOLLOWING:

  1. This is an independent and individual major examination; DO NOT WORK WITH OTHERS. We rely heavily on your HONESTY and STRONG MORAL UPRIGHTNESS. A student that commits any violation of academic integrity will be subjected to disciplinary action as deemed appropriate in accordance with the University's student handbook.
  2. All answers will be submitted through the Canvas questions provided.
  3. Canvas ignores any extra spaces at the start or at the end of an answer, but will not ignore extra spaces in the middle of an answer.
  4. It is recommended to input your answers as early as possible. DO NOT wait until the last few minutes before you input your answers. Even if you are able to get the correct answer, but you were not able to input your answer before the deadline or the answer that you input in Canvas is incorrect, it will not be considered.
  5. If you experience any problems with Canvas itself in inputting your answers, inform your instructor as soon as possible AT LEAST 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE DEADLINE. In line with this, you may be required by your instructor to send a copy of your HANDWRITTEN SOLUTIONS IN GOOD FORM WITH ANSWERS PROPERLY LABELED AND ENCLOSED IN A BOX. Make sure that these are IMMEDIATELY available when needed. Otherwise, your instructor may impose deductions to your score or may not consider your answers at all. These will be submitted as a single PDF as a Canvas Assignment. Should you encounter problems in submitting your solutions, inform your instructor immediately for alternative ways of sending the file.
  6. Once answers have been submitted, changing of answers will NOT be allowed.
  7. If you are unsure of some items or some instructions, you may ask your instructor for clarifications.

POLICY on NUMERICAL ANSWERS:

  1. Peso value answers must be inputted with decimal places, commas must be used for answers in thousands or millions. Example: 5,000,000.00
  2. Negative answers must have a negative sign at the start of the number. Example: -5,000.00
  3. If the answer is a ratio or anything other than a peso value/currency, use FOUR DECIMAL PLACES. Example: if your answer is 10.59%, please encode 0.1059 as your answer. If your answer is 10%, please encode 0.1000
  4. If the box intended for your answer converts your answer (example, if you enter 0.1000, it MAY convert it to 0.1), let it be. The phenomenon depends on the acceptable number format of the question.
  5. DO NOT include the symbols on your answer other than the negative sign (example: P for peso sign or days, percent, or any label of your answer)
  6. If there is a specific instruction on the problem, please follow so. (there are problems that require whole numbers to be inputted)
  7. If your answer is ZERO, please encode " Zero ".
